My understanding is that the '13 didn't have the auto function that ties it to the cabin temperature setting and S Flow.

An unannouced change during the 2013 production run???

It has been said already, but I will confirm. 2013 seat heat/ventilation is different from 2014-present. Mine (2013) came to me set to decrease seat heating automatically. Cooling stayed wherever you set it. I didn't like the auto decrease in heat, so I asked the dealer to change it. They said they looked at it and it wasn't a customizable setting so they couldn't change it. I got Carista and it was an option in there, so the dealer was wrong, but anyways, now my seat heater stays at whatever setting I put it on originally. There is no option for auto seat ventilation/cooling adjustment. So, the dealer may tell you they can't change this with the heat, but they can.

Interesting thing though... A few years back I remember a thread where someone with a MY13 had heated seats that would come on automatically when the car was in Eco mode during the colder months.

That sounds right. I personally have not used Eco mode even once, but from what I understand it is supposed to be able to adjust seat heating and cooling so that your heat and air conditioning don't run as much, thereby improving MPG.

In the 2013 the seat heaters are only linked to the heating in ECO mode.

I'm jealous of the 2015 that links to them no matter what the mode. I cant stand ECO so i have to hit the heated seat buttons every time.

Hi All,

Just got words from the dealer "tech unable to disable heater off setting".

I guess, i will have to purchase Carista for it.

Do i need Carista Pro version for it?

Thanks

I don't know why they don't realize they can change that setting. I got the same response when I asked them to do it.

And yes, if I am recalling correctly, I had to buy the Carista pro app. You can do some other cool stuff with it, so it's not a total waste of money if you want to do that other stuff. I just hate paying lots of money for apps, so I understand.

That setting is withheld from USDM models. We aren't mature enough over here to not chop our fingers off while they're closing.

I asked the dealer and they're told me is normal. Lexus designed that way. wtpho!

I'm currently using a 2016 NX200t loaner and both heated/ac seats stayed on at the same fan speed.

Is it normal or dealer just playing with me?

Thank you
On the 2014,The button will cycle thru Auto, level 3-2-1. When in Auto the level will adjust automatically.

They told me the same many years ago, take it back and tell them the setting is under the climate control options. I bought an impostor version of toyota's diagnostic tool explicitly for this purpose and it was truly a hard setting to find. But it does exist.

If you search my old posts I think I posted the exact menu tree to get to it. This pissed me off to no end when I first purchased my car.
