GS350 2014 and galaxy s7, text messages
I just upgraded my phone from galaxy s5 to galaxy s7. Even though on S5 my GS350 would display and read text messages, it stopped on my S7. After searching everywhere I found a post from 2015 that I tried and it made my text messages work again, so I thought I would post to help others that may this or similar issue with newly updated android phones.
1. Remove all linked phones, unpair bluetooth connection, and restart phone in SAFE mode
. (Google how to start your phone in Safe mode).
2. After pairing and connecting phone to car blue tooth in safe mode, everything transferred, all contacts, text messages, even emails.
You now can receive texts and use the available message replies.
3. Restart your phone to take out of safe more and you are all set.

yeah same way lexus disables the phonebook access to your phone once you are in drive, which forces you to look at your phone to locate a number to dial if its not on your speed dial list.

seems like it's hit and miss actually for text messages to be displayed and read out loud. Guess will need to wait until Lexus does an update and fully supports android 6.0 that comes with Galaxy s7, Hopefully soon

Only thing that bothers me about Android 6 (Marshmallow) is that on 2 different phones now, I get texts but the email function is blanked out. I can't understand what broke there, must be some way Marshmallow handles email over Bluetooth because security changed significantly.

it's the brand of phone that makes the difference, only HTC and BB I've been able to have email as well. But anything else it's been a miss most times for even text now with my one plus. But it's good that it doesn't work too , unless work related then it's more crucial to have.
