Default Nav Miles/Distance Issue

I've got 3000 miles on my 2015 GS350 and on my last trip, there is an issue with the miles and time to displayed exits while on the freeway. I'm driving on a freeway where the posted speed and speed limit on the Nav display is 70 mph. I'm driving a consistent 73 mph as there is no traffic, however, on this trip, the time to the exits must be using a speed of 30 mph because each exit's display shows the time as twice the distance (eg, distance 4 miles, time to exit 8 minutes). In the 3+ months I've had the car, this is the first time I've seen this discrepancy. As my dealer is 220 miles away, I can't just drive over there any time I feel like it.

I've posted on the Customer Service forum, however, I thought I'd see if anyone else has experienced this.

Have you go into the settings and checked the navigation speeds? My old Lexus was always off on the GPS arrival times. I went into the settings and moved the cruising speed from 60 to 75 mph.

Did the map show any traffic on the route? If it believes there is traffic, it'll adjust the arrival time.

Sounds like the OP needs to go into the settings and check/adjust the 'Driving Speeds' settings for 'Residential' (probably ~25 mph), 'Main Streets' (probably ~35 mph) and 'Freeways' (probably ~65 mph). With those speeds your Estimated Arrival Time won't be far off even on a long trip.

The OP has a '15 model, therefore with the generation 8 navigation system. If it's the same as the one in my IS, I don't believe you can change the speeds in it. Instead, it uses the speed limits for each road on the route.

That's correct: can't change the speed settings in a '15.

As far as traffic, nav shows green both ways. I'm going from Ritzville to Spokane on I-90 - traffic is pretty darn sparse on a Monday!

Ah, Ritzville to Spokane. I know that portion of I-90 very well. I'm from the west side and went to EWU. You're right, traffic shouldn't be an issue. ;-)

I'd write it off as a bit of a fluke and not worry too much about it. On your next service appointment, you can ask them to ensure you have the latest firmware.
