Posted this just in case someone is in the market and in the area to purchase a 4GS. It popped up in a website that I was in and thought it was fake, but its legit. This would be a steal for someone in the market!

That is an excellent price! Even with curb rash on a couple of the wheels. I doubt this car will last long.

was thinking about this thread, couple thoughts
car is from north east, thousands of small auto body shops that will do things with serving their own interests
if car fax is clean most of the time its major accidents or air bags deployed. so as example someone in parking lot backs up into a gs350 and hits front right quarter panel at 10 mph, quarter panel needs to be replaced and painted. brought to a body shop and it can be fixed and painted without being reported to car fax, thus clean car fax.
if it was me its a simple solution for the savings in the car if you desire it, put a deposit down on the car if you wanted it, bring it for an inspection to al lexus dealer and pay 100$ to have it looked over and the larger dealers will do auto body work stop by the shop and have them look at the car to see if its been painted, if no issues pay the balance and drive it home
cheers

Yep, tons of cars in the NE get sprayed and hit auctions, then get shipped to little mom and pop operations with a clean Carfax. I've bought a car before that had a clean carfax the day I bought it, but when I traded it for my GS 7 years later, it came back as having a serious accident. The car always drove perfectly straight, no uneven wear on anything, it was a gem.
Can't always trust Carfax is the point. Some stuff doesn't get reported and there's a timing issue between it getting sprayed or hammered out, and the time it hits the report (if ever). If dealers time it just right, they can get a slightly damaged car at auction, ship it to their dealership, paint it and throw it on the lot (volume sales, quick turns) and hand the customer a clean Carfax.

As an afterthought this makes one almost want to put a clause in the contract that if later a Carfax report comes back that this vehicle has been in an accident they will buy it back.
