Default 2013 gs350 not starting. Please help...

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2013 GS350 F sport with 56k miles. It was running fine yesterday, but today it wouldnt start. The engine keeps cranking but does not start. When you first try to start it, several lights come on, but after a few seconds they go away, but these lights remain on (see picture below). My advisor from Lexus said the light with the steering wheel and ! is for the power steering system.

Anybody have any thoughts or ideas. Maybe someone who had the same issue?? Thanks in advance...

Chances are it's the idiotic $800 Panasonic "smart battery" Lexus used in 2013 (and may still use, for all I know); I was stranded twice in the first month I had the car by that thing. My dealer swapped in a good 'ol Interstate battery, no issues since.

Okay thanks. Did you have to get the car towed in to the dealership?? I tried giving it a jumpstart but it wouldnt start.

Both times the car was jumped started by a portable battery without any problems; if you can't jump yours there maybe something else going on.

if it was a battery issue, the engine wouldn't crank.

Looking at your photo-is it out of gas? If not , check the sepertine belt to make sure it's not broken.

Given that those icons are illuminated yet the middle display is blank indicates there's something wrong with a computer module somewhere. Just my 2 cents. Have you checked the fuses?

Check your fuse box. I had blown a fuse with my LED reverse lights, and couldn't figure out what had happen. Ended up taking it to dealership and they kept the car for 2 days. Turned out to be a blown fuse, just like I had suspected. The car was giving off different warning signs and my reverse camera stopped working as well. so the service advisor wasn't sure what had happen. They said it was a fuse that typically never blows out and that's why they ran all these tests. Stupid $55 reverse lights I bought cost me over $345 to get my RX350 fixed because they decided to blow a random fuse.

+1 - My initial thoughts are either a fuse OR possibly a starter issue (although with only 56K miles, the latter shouldn't happen!).

Definitely get your dealership or a good mechanic to check it out.

So sorry to hear this happened to you. G'luck my friend,

My thought is, there's a very good chance your problem is the fuel pump, with a lesser chance the problem is only the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump could even have an intermittent problem (open circuit) - working some times, and not working at other times.
