Clear out your text messages or limit them to say 300 messages. This fixed it for me.

iOS or Android? If iOS, its normal. It's their built in planned obsolescence module receiving the message from Apple headquarters to start acting up as a new iPhone will be announced soon.
Try deleting the pairing and re-pair the bluetooth.

If Android what praetor says will fix it. If Apple, do a hard reset on the phone. Hold home and power buttons until you see the apple logo. Most issues with iPhones I've seen come from people that never power their phone off.

Had a lot of strange things happening with my iPhone 6 and BT. Uninstalled from Car several times, rebooted phone, restored phone, pulled my hair out, ....
Then I backed up my rather large history of text's to the PC, deleted them from the phone.
Presto, everything works as expected now. Don't know why it worked, but it did.

It's like clock work now, start the car, watch it connect. Wait a minute, "disconnected" keep driving then see it connect. Then were good .
Repeat....

I was having the same problem, intermittent connection every 30s or so. I removed all previously paired devices. Hard rebooted the phone. Paired again and the problem went away. Good luck.
