Question 2013 GS350 Pull the trigger or NOT?

Is this deal too good to be true?

Carproof says No accidents, but it does have a Third Party History at odometer: 11 kilometer(Source of Data: "Service Facility Service Record"). Other than that it's clean. One more thing, the engine bay looks particularly "DIRTY" for a car with a little over 19000 Kilometers.

The dealership sells mostly exotic sports cars, and the salesman told me its a trade in, and recently dropped the price on this GS from $45,000 to $39,888.

Link to the vehicle:
http://wwwb.autotrader.ca/cars/lexus...=True&wcp=True

Odometer: 19850 KM
Price: $39,888 CND (Similar GS350s here in Canada are around $41-45k)
options: RWD+NAV
Location: Toronto, Canada

If you could take it to an independent mechanic to have it checked out you should do it. The deal sounds about right. Although there were a couple of upgrades to the '14 model the '13 GS still has the 6-speed auto which some say is more responsive than the 8-speed that replaced it. Unless it is a Lemon I can't imagine having any significant problems with a Lexus.

Where did the original owner live? If it is RWD, it is likely southern US. Could be from a beach area with lots of blowing sand/dirt...

Be very careful of these independent car dealers that sell 'exotic cars'

My opinion best to buy a CPO from a Lexus dealer

Looks like they went offroading....most new cars are insulated enough to keep under the hood fairly clean under normal driving conditions...lol. I would pass on it, I would rather spend an extra $1,000-$2,000 on a car that was CPO or didn't have anything questionable like that.

Engine bay looks typical, if not clean for a car that has been through 2 winters. A bit of engine degreaser and it will look like new. Remember guys, this car is in Canada, not SoCal. get some snow, salt and road grime from sloppy snow and it gets dirty in a hurry. The part that worries me is the dirtiness of the interior, around the engine start button and the leather seats. might want to make sure that stuff will come off.

You can take the VIN and go to lexus to see what maintenance has been performed on it. I deal with Ryan at Erin Park Lexus, he is a good guy.
I'm sure they would let you take it to lexus for a full thorough inspection if you are worried.

Lastly, are you sure you don't want an AWD model?

I'm surprised the dealership didn't even bother to detail under the hood a bit.
I'd pass on this one.

The last owner lived in Toronto, Ontario. We get a lot of snow and salt here during the winter.

Are they always hiding something? The car is still under warranty for another 2 years/40,000km by lexus.

Thanks.

I will definitely take the car in to a lexus dealer for a 131 points inspection that they do to their CPO cars. I will be delivering the car to Vancouver, and it snows about 2 days in a year there.

Not to discourage but here is what you can read on, not all situation are the same. However , if you ask me, I would say HELL NO get away from all private dealerships.
Is the car have problem after you buy it? Yes, Maybe, No..But I don't' want to go back and forth at dealership for problems but If I buy from the dealer within a month they do whatever it takes to make you happy. Rather they will say no you didn't buy the car from us and your engine is blah blah blah. You won't cover it because blah blah blah.
Why people buying car at private dealer? They don't have a choice to go thru Lexus dealership or they think they find good deals , etc.
Anyways, good luck to all your buying.
