Does the 2015 GS450H have a standard 194 bulb and if so does anyone know if the housing is the same size and can take the SMD-12 board. I would assume it will, this is a great mod. Have done a different led trunk light setup on a 2007 Camry a few years ago with very good results.

I installed in 20 seconds the Diode option for my 2015 GS350 F sport and it makes a huge difference. Lexus should have made this a standard feature. Best $20 I spent since Thailand

On my 2013 GS450h, one of the first "mods" that I did was to replace the awful stock truck light with the SMD12 LED board after looking at the results in this topic. I guess we should all be thankful to "tedbird" who introduced us to the place that sells this LED board (Diode Dynamics) for our cars.
This is probably one of the simplest mods, but makes a big difference if you need to see your trunk items. LED lights all over the car SHOULD come standard - come on Lexus!

Just finished this DIY. The wires moved within the plug when plugging in the adaptor which caused an on/off short. To fix I put a dab of hot glue in the plug to stabilize the wires. Good to go. Much more light. So much I found the hidden compartment on the left side trunk where the original owners manual was stashed by the prior owner. Made the dealer buy me one at purchase. Hahaha! Who needs an owners manual?

With the help of bclexus, I was able to get my SMD-12 board working. I actually blew a fuse either taking out the 194 bulb or plugging in the SMD-12 board initially (for the newbs, don't worry, changing a fuse is easy enough for a 5 year old to do).
The difference was tremendous! Here are the before and after pictures (pardon the mess, I still tend to use my trunk like a somewhat organized college kid):

For future reference, those considering replacing their stock trunk light with the the Diode Dynamics SMD12 LED Panel (produces 118 Lumens), here are two options for white light:
Warm White (3000°K Color Temp), see pictures posted by tedbird: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ml#post8781843
Pure White (6000°K Color Temp), see pictures posted by djkidd: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ml#post8848662
This is just a preference of which look you prefer because they are both a HUGE improvement over the stock bulb. This is a MUST mod imho!
Hope this helps,

The LED panel posted by djkidd is most definitely PURE WHITE. I have the exact same panel installed in my car and that's how it looks.

Pole Position
6000k is white with a blue hue. 5000k (I wish they would have this as on option more often) is usually your best bet. It's a balance between 6000k and 3000k. It truly is pure white without any blue hue.
That being said.. the lights on the interior of our cars use 6000k LEDs so I suppose 6000k will do because it'll match the rest of the car.
The panel is pretty cheap, but there are brighter options out there.

I just finished doing mine, bought some off ebay, all for $1.45 shipped

24SMD 5730 LED White Light Panel
The bulb is a 194, and there is no place to mount the strip light using the 3m sort of tape so I simply used a small amount of hot glue to make sure the strip stays put, does not rattle or shift / tilt in the housing, amazing results
literally 5 minute job (including 4 minutes for the glue gun to heat up)

I'm going to do the strip light whenever I get around to it. I had a 48LED PCB I got from VELD's. It's going to be in my camper. I tested it in the Lexus. Made a huge difference but the light is a hair too thick to fit inside the the plastic lens (its got sandwiched PCB boards). It was nine and bright but I would like the light spread out a little more inistead of in one point.
