Real time traffic not working completely
I've got a 13 GS350 F-Sport and have the real time traffic. The problem is that is doesn't work completely. I live in IL and have a place in MI and it stops in Indiana and I also go up to WI for business and it stops short of the IL/WI border as well. Sirius says it's a nav issue that needs to be upgraded but there's no update yet. Anyone else have a problem like this?

I hate to say it, but the system is crap! Sirius is so delayed with the company they get the data from and then delayed in relaying it to our cars that you come upon "traffic" after its cleared.
I've called and looked into this and the stock quotes with a client of mine.

That's always an adventure.

The Navtraffic is on in only major metropolitan areas. I have many hi-end vehicles. The problem resides that even though XM and Sirius have merged, there is a difference in the Navtraffic from prior XM vehicles (Porsche, Toyota, and Lexus) and greater coverage in Sirius vehicles (Audi, Mercedes, Ford, GM and Infiniti).
It is one of the reasons I do not like the Navtraffic in my LX and LS. The new IS gets the traffic from FM transmission. This may be better, but my experience with BMV and VW in the past, you really needed FM reception and if didn't have any, then no traffic.

I noticed mine wasn't working so I contacted Sirius XM via their website and added the NAVTraffic option. An extra $3.99 a month affair with $20+ in fees.
It's still not working.

Another problem even when it does work is SiriusXM does not update as often as they should. This is why NavTraffic/Weather has been dropped in favor of Clear Channel HD with this latest Navigation system available in the IS, CT and GX - also this system is no subscription based, its for the life of the car

Yup, traffic data sucks in my '13 also. I pull up Inrix on my phone if I want to know what's going on. Some people like Waze also, but Inrix is what I've used for years and it's easy to submit accidents and traffic jams for other drivers.

Nice! I got NAVTraffic with XM to work.
I can't assume it will work immediately after I contact Sirius XM and add NAVTraffic to my subscription plan. I have to park the car outdoors and resend the activation signal with my smartphone.
Within 3 minutes, I have green and red lines along the FWYs on the map. Sweet.
I'm also getting realtime traffic hazard listings.
