Galaxy S4 / Windows Phone 8 Bluetooth SMS

I have an ES300h and Samsung S4. Sometimes the message option is grayed out. Not sure why as BT is connected and working fine.
I use an app called AVX for text messages and email. This app allows the ability to set up what streams you want the audio to go through. I have mine set for music and it sounds great.

I finally put in a call into Verizon and complained about my bluetooth constantly cutting out. They admitted there was a problem with BT since the last update but there was no way to revert back to pre-4.4.2 update. They are promising a fix from Samsung in about three weeks. Hope this fixes it then or they will owe me a new phone.

I requested a flashback and was told it was not possible. Anyway, they owe me a fix or a new phone very soon.

Interesting thread. I've had my GS4 Android with the new OS before my 4GS Lexus so I thought it was me doing something wrong. I actually have experienced a lot of the same issues.
I did realize that things work a bit more smoothly for me if the phone's BT radio is on before I start the car. Not a solution, but it at least makes music streaming, voice calls, and a few other basic functions usable for me.

I love this feature on my Nokia Win 8 phone. I won't consider an iPhone until this is fully integrated.
The only problem with this feature is when it is connected to a Bluetooth speaking (say at work) it interrupts every time a text comes in.

That's BS. I've had 4.4.2 on my AT&T MotoX for months without these issues. Now, the issue may be with Samsung, but not the OS.

Kajn - my S4 just stopped working as well. It was related to the OTA update to Android 4.4.2 that I just got - I think. Until that version update everything worked great.
I'm assuming the same may have happened to you. I haven't spent must time debugging the issue to see if it's a Lexus or Android "thing".

No unfortunately. Multiple unpairing and pairing does nothing. Very frustrating since I drive a lot and messing with my phone while driving makes me uncomfortable.
