Default GS450h base price

Just wondering if anyone has the list of standard equipment and package configuration with prices for the GS450h. I checked Lexus' website and only the base MSRP is posted. The $58,950 base MSRP seems steep compared to the Infiniti M Hybrid's base price of $53,700. The BMW ActiveHybrid has a base price of $60,950, so the GS450h is not too much cheaper (the GS being a more successful hybrid and a better car, IMO). I was definitely interested in the 450h, but after seeing the $$$$$$, I would have to keep it for 15 years for the reduced fuel costs to equalize the additional cost over the GS350. Any other thoughts?

The difference in fuel cost relative to milage won't be enough no matter how you look at it. You'd be better off getting a fully loaded 350 or F-sport for the price. However, it has some options that the 350 and F-sport don't have like the bamboo wood, 0-60 is a tenth faster and it has a little more HP.

Wow, I see that you don't drive very often then. 15 years to get your money back? That's like doing 17bucks a week on gas given the price difference of around $12K from a base to hybrid. At $65 per tank, you would only have to pump once a month!

I think an average person do $65 per week on gas. I calculated my scenario and I can get the $12K in about 4 years. I'm still thinking about a hybrid. If it's less than 3 years, it'll make my decision easier.

You're right about the low mileage, but I probably exaggerated about taking 15 years for a payout. I have my car about 1.5 years and I have less than 7000 miles on it. The payout would probably take more like 25 years (at current gas prices).

there is no point in buying GS450h for reduced fuel costs alone... Part of its appeal is more power, and cool/technology factor...

Anybody knows whether the 450h comes with extra features, like power mirrors?

It's got the standard JDM lights, a smaller trunk, bamboo and a couple other small features besides the fact its got a great tech hybrid motor.

But here's the thing fewer than 1/3rd of Hybrid buyers buy another hybrid after their first, What's that tell us?

Looking at the last GS450h it would take you quite a few years to break even on your investment

I guess somebody didn't read the latest Motortrend showing the M dead last and the GS first, with Motortrend dubbing the GS probably the ultimate drive machine over the very 5 series it beat.

Yea, if you want the M hybrid, get it, it is cheaper, for a reason.
