Default so i rubbed up against my is300 on accident. need some advice on paint

just like the title says. i accidentally rubbed up against my is300 and the rear reflector scratched my bumper and fender a little. its not that bad to where i need to repaint the entire bumper but i do want to touch it up to hide the imperfection. lucky my car is white and having to blend it perfectly isnt so much of an issue. i stumble across this website trying to find a paint solution and i just want some opinions about how im going to go about it. im going to mask the area that needs touching up and using a paint matching aerosol spray to repair the area. let me know what you think

If you don't really care, just leave it. If you do care enough to paint it yourself, take it to a body shop. If you do it yourself and you don't have experience with automotive paint work, you won't be happy with the results.

Before you paint anything, take some paint thinner (wife's nail polish remover will do the trick too) and rub all that black residue off. You will be surprised how much better it will look.

Rubbing compound should take a lot of that off. The fender looks like it will come mostly clean. The bumper looks like it took the worst of it.

I would use rubbing compound to get off as much of the black stuff as possible and then just touch up the areas with a touch up pen where the paint was actually taken off. Some people then wetsand that too smooth it down, but I've never done it.

Don't wetsand it unless you have experience and know what you're doing!!! lol it's like cutting a piece of steak with a jigsaw. You'll cause way more damage in the end, I guarantee it

If you just clay/buff/polish you'll get a good chunk of it out. Just pick up a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and go from there

if you use aerosol paint, it's gonna turn yellow in no time. Those single stage soft acrylic crap should never be used.

ive had good luck with WD40 or gasoline. Then compound. A lot of mobile pdr guys offer spot jobs like that for under $200.

Grab some laquer thinner and clean it off try to get as much off as possible. Then I would do the touch up paint!

That pearl white is the most difficult color to paint out of all the paints. Pearl White is a very hard to color match! Experienced painters have trouble with it

Ask a professioal detailer how he would go about the repair. Or get some quotes from a bodyshop. Looks like a $200 to $300 job.
