Advice neede to purchase GS 460 or Gs 430
Which car is a better decision, please advise. Looking to purchase either 430 or 460z
I have found the 2008 GS460 and i love it. Its not perfect like the GS430 but the carfax is good and history records from Lexus site are great too. Over all its a 9/10 . Breaks are good, interior has some minor blemishes but i can live with it, so is exterior. I also was able to talk to the owner of gs460 and he told me that the car is very good and there was no issues with it, only minor stuff.
The GS430 is located in CA, i am not going there to see the car, so the salesman send me a video. It looks great, but as i said earlier all GS 430 2006 and up have break pads issue, they only last 12k tops. That is based on the history records I have found from Lexus site. The issue with GS430 is first of all I am not flying to CA to see the car, also Hostory record are a little sketchy, the owner have replaced breaks pads every 10-12k mi, another sketchy thing is that there are no history records from 2012 @20k mi to 2015 @ 24 mi. As if the owned either did not drive the car for 3years or it was just damaged. Then @ 2015 the owner did some work. Here is what the record look like.
I found a 2008 Lexus GS 460 Locally for $21,725 on Autotrader [url]http://atcm.co/S2PVDP/1983F635[/url
And 2006 GS430 on Cars.com: http://m.cars.com/vehicledetail/#vdp...ngId=665871328

MILAGE IS 29k on the GS 430 2006, and on the 2008 GS 460 is 69k.
I pretty much decided not to get GS 430 from CA. There one at local CARMAX 2009 with 66k miles, but they asking too much $20.500. and they do not negotiate.
or
the GS 460 69k but they wont let it go for less than $20k. I am still negotiating with them, trying to get it for $17k

I will be test driving GS430 today. Is the difference really that big b/n the two? They both 8cyl, just 30 more HP in one. Was it the ride quality that makes the difference or the power of the engine?

Just a bit more power, better navigation, the face lift is nice, and the 8-speed is great. Can't go wrong either way, but I'd aim for the 460.

I wish i had the option to purchase a 460. When I was looking at the 430s/460s no local 460s were for sale -____-
A rarer car, more power, and 2 extra gears. I'd assume its a lot quicker than a 430. Coming from a 600cc sport bike, the 430 left quite a bit to be desired in acceleration.

man I absolutely love my 2006 gs430.
I had to drive a 4 cylinder elentra rent a car for a month while my gs was getting work done and man I can't tell you how much it reignited my passion for the 430.
I've never driven the 460 so can't comment on how it compares to the 430 but can't imagine anyone having an issue with the power in the 430.
and the power delivery is so smooth it's such a pleasure.
now the handling is another story, def could do with sway bars and stiffer suspension long as it doesn't ruin the ride quality.

I love the V8 gs430. It's very responsive,and the engine is bulletproof. I currently own a 2006 blk/blk gs430 and its forsale.

I think the GS460 is more reliable than the LS, from reading the forums many of them have to replace the control arms and it can cost over $3000 to replace them all. Plus the GS is faster and handles better. But that LS interior is a huge step up
