I need Lexus to stand behind their "pursuit of perfection". In the meantime I'm driving a 15 ES 350 which is actually quite nice. Not my smoky granite mica GS though....

Lexus is giving me $2000 service credit towards the repairs. I'm picking up an engine this Friday from a 2009 GS 350 AWD with 44,000 miles on it.

I'll be shocked if you get anything out of them. Pretty much all about the new customer who leases, not about anything over 5 years old. They just flat out don't care.

Well they agreed to $2000 service credit to cover the removal/install of the motor I am bringing them and the car was not bought from them and far out of warranty. I bought it off Craigslist from a private owner with 97,000 on it. I am very surprised they did that and was basically not expecting anything. I've been driving a 2015 loaner ES 350 for the past week also... Not bad if you ask me.

Man if that was me in that same situation, I'd look for a salvaged IS-F and pull the motor on that one. Lol jk, on a serious note, hope all goes well. Just the hassle alone is crazy enough to go through.

I explored other options... Even a 2JZ but my difficulty lies in the car being AWD.... If it was RWD it could be easier... Still a lot of money and labor though and the sacrifice of a lot of functionality with the existing electronics in the car... This has been a crazy pain in the ***. I'm glad they offered assistance.

I'm hoping around $2000 give or take. They said their standard procedure is to pull the valve covers, check everything over, use a bore scope to inspect the inside as much as possible, install a new rear main seal, pre oil the cylinders before initial start up etc.... I'm contacting them tonight to get some final numbers... It's quoted online as a 21 hour job for removal and replacement..... Sheesh

They had an IS-F motor with around 23,000 miles on it for $8,000.... The car was rear-ended and about 4' shorter.... They had the 19"s off of it too... I'm tempted to throw them on my GS....
