Default 2007 GS450H Battery Question (OEM Panasonic/ Aftermarket Options)

Hi guys:
I need to replace the OEM panasonic 12V battery in the trunk. Like everyone else, I feel that $550-600 from the dealer is ridiculous and the battery seems to suck. From what I've read here, it seems there are a few different options (Optima yellow top D35, Diehard Platinum, etc). My question is what are the additional wires coming from the OEM batttery? For those of you who have gone the aftermarket battery route for your GS450H, what did you do with the additional wires?

I believe the extra wires are battery temperature sensors. Simply remove from old battery and place on the new one. This is from what I have read as I have not changed my battery yet.

There were some great 12v battery posts in the LS600h forum on what to do with the wires.

Can you update this post after you install a new battery and give any insight to MPG increase as well as butt dyno impressions? Thanks!
