Fan working loud, Required radiator replacement
Hello,
I was away for work for 2 weeks, car was parked without being driver. As I return I started driving and noticed my cooling fans that are attached next to the radiator running a lot louder then usual. I found it strange, and was waiting to get some time off work to go to my mechanic.I always looked at my temperature gauge to make sure the car is not overheating as I was noticing loud fans. As I pull up to meet with my friend I tell him listen how loud my fans are, he says "it sounds like my BMW its normal", I know this isn't normal I have owned my car for over 5 years now and know how everything should sound. I popped the hood noticed white stains around my plastic engine cover and front plastic bumper cover. I looked around and noticed my radiator leaking coolant fluid from the top. Checked my anti freeze bottle and it is empty wen't to my mechanic and had the radiator replaced. I asked him if it is normal for a car with 100k miles to have a radiator fail, and he said for a Toyota/Lexus it is normal. Suggestion make sure your anti freeze fluid is topped of and check your radiator for any leaks, once it drys it becomes white can't miss it. Anyone else needed their radiator replaced? At aching a picture of my old radiator out of the car

damn, that is one nasty looking radiator. I don't like hearing/seeing stories on the 3GS like this...considering i've only had my 09' for 5 months. My daily work driver, 03' Honda Accord, has 301k miles and my original radiator looks 10x better than this Lexus 07' with only 100k. Scary stuff.

It looks nasty probably because I have added more Anti Freeze and it kept leaking out to make all the white nasty stuff on it.
