2006 GS300 Replaced battery. Need to Pair back to car.
I just purchased a 2006 GS300 with 2 remotes. One battery is dead. I swapped a new battery in the dead remote easy enough. The remote lights up when you press a button now, however the car doesn't recognize it. How do I pair it back to the car? If your response is "Take it to the dealer" don't bother.

I find it odd that a remote would lose its programming from a dead battery especially since each remote has its own , unchangeable frequency and its the cars cpu that recognizes each individual remote. When you got that remote, did it at any time work or they just simply give it to you with a dead battery from the get go? It might be that that particular key was never programmed for your car or the cpu some how lost the ability to recognize that control. Either way, your options are limited to either going to the person who you bought the car off of and have them do the programming, taking the car to the dealer or going to a good locksmith to have it programmed there.

The remote came with the car dead. The actual keys are the same. I agree, odd for the remote to lose programming. The reason I'm worried, is because if the working remote fails, how do you start the car?
