Default Oil Change (dealer/Jiffy Lube etc..)

I've always taken my car the dealer or a certified lexus shop for my oil change. I know of you guys change your own oil. Have any of you taken your cars to other places like Jiffy Lube or WalMart ect..? Just curious because my dealer is 30 miles from me.

dealer. i wouldnt trust someone like jiffy lube, walmart, pep boys, etc.. considering they will hire anyone off the street looking for a job. its a peace of mind thing by doing it at the dealer, plus it goes on the service history record.

Yeah I trust the dealership as well. My sister wanted to be cheap one day and she brought it to Monroe well she found out that they never changed the oil in her X5, one of those stories not saying it could happen just be careful if you do and make sure.

i know how u feel. however i used to work as at a local jiffy lube... majority of my co workers either were/went to tech school, or were experienced hands on. the non mechanical guys we kept doing basic stuff... now that im working at a dealer, seeing what goes on here, id rather take my GS to jiffy lube funny enough.

Wow - a Lexus expert recommending Jiffy Lube (in my case Firestone is closer) over THE DEALER is refreshing!
I just spent $90 at Cherry Hill Lexus on an oil change today and my brother's Camry gets 4 oil changes for $20 per 4K miles in a year.

Currently at Toyota South Morrow GA. They honored their $19.95 online coupon for the GS. Nice!

Regardless of who changes your oil you can go on Lexus.com and update your own cars service history..

i should rephrase that... i work at A dealer. not a lexus dealer. i work for one of the local honda dealers, while everyone else got picked up my lexus/toyota -.- but my friends and i exchange experiences ever now and then and we all agree that jiffy lube isnt that bad... then again, each worker is different. i took pride in the cars i serviced, especially the toyo's. but honestly i take my car back to jiffy lube if i dont do it myself. only time i go to lexus is if i have a major repair covered by warranty or i get a free lube for terrible service, which surprisingly has been 3+ times

my 411, an oil just change is pretty much 3 screws, (OIl Filter, Oil Pan, and the screw where you put the oil in). I really don't think it requires a certified technician to do an oil change. A lot of people do their own oil change, does that mean they are certified technicians? probably not. Granted jiffy lube, walmart, etc... don't use the same oil as Lexus, but you can always take it to Toyota, were driving an upgraded toyota.

Just my 2 cents.
