"Do you have to be ex military to access the lifts? (or is this just a personal connection?)"
I'm retired Military. The Base facility can be used by Active, Guard, Reserve or retired Military.

I do mine. I spend more time washing my car than I do changing the oil. Rhino ramps stopped me from being lazy. I would procrastinate to change the oil when I had to bring out the jack stands.

Off topic - We laid my Dad to rest at Punchbowl National Cemetery last year. It gives my Mother great comfort to know that when the time comes, she will rest beside him forever in that beautiful setting.

I used to when I was younger... now with kids I don't bother especially since we hardly use the car. I get it changed with amsoil once a year so I don't care about paying them to get dirty for me so infrequently. I don't take it to Lexus I take it to an independent toyota/lexus shop. It's about $70 for full synthetic change which is pretty good for Toronto considering Lexus charges like $120 for dino.

I do my own myself. I got screwed by a company claiming they put royal purple in my car with a K&N filter (non-Lexus). Lets just say no K&N filter or purple oil whatsoever. This was a speed shop. So I do all my work myself now.
Now since the wife got me a lift for the bday. It has made a world of difference on everything that I do.

These cars are surprisingly easy to work on. It takes three times as long to take it to the dealership as it does to DIY. My time is valuable, not to mention the money saved and peace of mind gained by doing the work yourself. It really is a 30 minute job (and that's taking your time!)
