Default Question re extra set of TPMS sensors

Will other TPMS sensors work on the 3GS or do you have to buy the stock ones from Lexus? I am looking for a second set of stock rims for the winter and most sets I'm looking at don't have TPMS sensors. I would buy a set of stock Lexus sensors, but they are expensive, so I was wondering if a different less expensive sensor would work (like off of a Toyota). Thanks for the help.

Ebay has Toyota tpms sensors that will work, ranging from $100-200 for all 4, I would start there so like tpms sensors off a Camry or such would work

Doesn't have to be Toyota or Lexus OEM. There are other aftermarkt TPMS that work also. I think the brand I got are called Orange.

not all of them are universal, but practically any TPMS sensor with 315Mhz will work with your lexus vehicle. They can be Non-OEM if that's what you want.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TPMS-Tire-Pr...-/160815352510

That link shows that the sensors are 315Mhz, it was a 2-minute google as I've only got a few minutes to look around for you, but by all means. Please look further into it before jumping the wagon, the link COULD BE wrong!

I got a set of used Pacific TPMS (p/n PMV-107J) from eBay seller starsuccess-2007 for $68. Brought them to a Toyota dealer to have the tires and TPMS installed and programmed for $100.00 (Lexus wanted $250.00 for the job).

Two of my sensors went bad and I replaced them with non OEM units. Work just as good as the super over priced Lexus units.

Other brands should work, I spoke with Lexus and they will need to calibrate them for about $200
