PenFed Auto Warranty
Has anybody signed up for the autowarranty from Pentagon Federal Credit Union? They're offering $2,300 for up to 100,000 miles...bumper to bumper coverage. I just pay a $100 deductible when I take it in for repairs. What do you guys think?

Never heard of them. To be honest I don't trust aftermarket warranties. I would only trust ones with a big brand like AAA. I think Sears is looking at opening full auto repair shops And will sell warranties used At their shops. That will be good too.
Key thing to validate is how the claim works - will they pay direct, will your dealer accept the payment, do they pay for repairs at dealer of your choice? And how does coverage compare with factory warranty coverage (detailed comparison of scope)

Lexus is offering a 7 yr/100,000 mile platinum with a $50 deductible for $2,350. The platinum is close to bumper to bumper....I think i'd rather have a Lexus plan than aftermarket.

In fact, here's some more info. I bought my ex warranty from Toby at Lexus of Shreveport for $1525 for a 6 yr/100 mi zero deductible Lexus platinum warranty. His email is TobyToyota@aol.com. I was treated well and the price was right. Good luck!

I'm kind of new to this whole car ownership thing. So this extended warranty just acts like my original factory warranty? If i take it in for service at a place other than a dealer, does that warranty get voided?

I'm not sure yet jonny because i'm still under factory warranty and haven't had to use it. From what i've been told, it's as close as you can get to the factory warranty and you can take it to any Lexus dealer. Overall, i'd probably stick to the Lexus warranty before an aftermarket warranty. I've just heard too many horror stories about them.

Interesting inputs, over the last several months, many of the biggest credit card companies have raised interest rates and tested new annual fees on some products. Well, regarding PenFed For reduced rates and no fees, the PenFed Promise Visa is ideal. This credit card beats just about anything out there. All you have to have is a tie to the U.S. armed forces.

Hey guys, I actually bought that warranty and used it on a yukon denali. It shouldnt cost you $2300 it should be $1400 since its not considered a luxury car per route 66. I was hesitant about the warranty when the dual zone ac quit working correctly and GMC wanted $115/hr and the warranty paperwork said "reasonable" hourly wage.
They ended up paying 100% of the $1400 bill minus taxes. So I was out about $110 or something like that. So I was impressed with it and would have done it over again.
The only thing it didnt cover was oil leaks which I wasnt fond of, but I have owned many GM cars and unfortunately the ac never works right with dual zone ac and is expensive to repair, as well as little **** breaking all the time. So we sold the denali with 29k miles on it for our 07 gs350 with 96k miles on it. Much happier now
