Default Tint Recommendations

Hi guys I am going to a tint shop tommorow for my 09 GS 350 and was wondering what types of tints you recommend. I was thinking about going with the tint that's the next 1 lighter than limo tint for the entire car but since I wear glasses/contacts I am not sure if that will cause a problem for me for night time driving as I am nearsighted. Also do you guys recommend tinting the windshield the same tint as the rest of the car or should I leave it a bit lighter?

Windshield tint is illegal, but aside from that I would do it the same color all around if I was to do it (for off road use only, of course ).

concur with jre002. Just dim the interior lights (i.e...touchscreen, instrumental panel) because you'll see the reflection in the windows...especially at night.

What color is your interior? What is legal in your state?

if you've never driven a car at night with dark tint, you'll hate it.

and then you say that you have vision issues and need glasses.....dont do it.

My interior is black with silver exterior. I live in Ontario, Canada and as far as I know the windows can be tinted to slightly lighter than limo dark and I think the windsheild has to be a bit lighter.

My previous car a used Camry was tinted by the previous owner and it was not too dark and I didn't have vision problems at night. Keep in mind I am not going limo dark as the guy at the tint shop recommended the shade that is lighter than that.

if the tint in your old camry is fine with respect to your night vision, just go with same tint in your GS. btw, i think it's illegal to tint front windshield in ON. better check the motor vehicle act to see what it says.

35% is really light. On my 07' GMC Sierra, the rear passenger windows were factory tinted at 20%, so I had my tinter in Atlanta put 20 on the fronts with a 5% sunstrip. I think it's technically "illegal" to go that low on the front two doors (32% is the right number I believe), but I wanted it to match.

On my 07' GS, I have 15% all around and 45% on the windshield. All Llumar brand (the best available).
