FYI for the guys who bought used and/or are in Canada, I got a letter from the Lexus main office about this recall yesterday. When I called the dealer, they said it would be a few weeks until they got the parts in, but that I could make an appointment (which I did.)
So I think as long as you've somehow made yourself known to the dealer, you will be notified.

There is a recall on this. It has to do with the gears on the front of the motor. I got mine replaced under warranty April 2013 and got a recall letter last week. When I took it in, they returned the car to me the next day telling me that this recall was for the service done back in April.
Call your local lexus dealership to see if your car qualifies for the recall. They will need your VIN

Hello all..
My thoughts on the lifter/valve noise issue. First a question, has anyone discovered a fix for this? My thought is that 5w-30 maybe too light a viscosity for summer startups, especially 80 degrees and warmer. I'm going to try a 10w-30 Royal Purple and see if this helps the issue. Any thoughts?

Gotcha350,
Thanks for your reply.. I took your advice, however, I opted not to go with an engine flush. The only reason, I'm not sure which flush is recommended and used by others.
I removed the oil filter only to discover it had not been changed for several oil changes, contrary to what the service records indicated. The filter that I removed was an AC Delco, wow.... I replaced the filter with a "WIX" and oil with 5w-30 Royal Purple. I noticed the difference at first startup, the engine is whisper quiet. I'm going to do an engine flush at about 300 miles with an OEM Toyota Filter and Royal Purple.
Thanks again..

Lexus gs300 2006 misfire
I am currently trying to fix a misfire on my lexus gs300 2006. The car sputters when your driving at around 1600 rpm, and when I first start the car on a cold start it sputters bad until the car warms up. When the car warms up it drives better but still sputters and by sputter I mean misfiring. The car also shakes when the cars rpm drops. I have a p0300 code which is random/multiple cylinder misfire, I have a p0304 which is cylinder 4 misfire, and p0306 code which is cylinder 6 misifre, and I sometimes get a cylinder 2 misfire. I also have a p0051 code which is oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1. I have changed the fuel injectors, the spark plugs, coil packs, crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor. Have any of you guys had this problem? and any advice?
