Replacing 06' GS 460 HID bulbs??
I did a search and nothing came up..
My friend has a 06' 460 and he's trying to replace the HID bulbs to match his fogs, is that possible or what kind of bulbs does he need to do so. He tried many ways, and everytime he replaces the bulbs and turnsthe lights on, it just shuts off. Why is that?
My question is, is he using the right bulbs, or is this the affect for the 460's. What kind of bulb can he use to match up the colors, ballast, bulb amps?? HELP!!

Couple things: The 460 didn't exist in 2006, it was the 430 - and while that may not seem like a big deal, I don't know if the bulb type was changed between years (although I highly doubt it). Second, if the system is shutting down after a few seconds, it indicates a bad bulb, bad ballast or, MOST likely an overloaded ballast (e.g., the bulbs are too high a Kelvin or wattage rating for the ballast and it is shutting down to protect it because too much power is being drawn). IF the original bulbs work w/o issue, it is likely the latter problem.

you need to give us more and correct info..
no 460 in 06 like stated, and to match his bulbs in fog? what does he have in the fog? what is he putting in the low beam?
come on man, how can we help without any details? there are simply way too many things that can go wrong.

oops my bad, its a 430.. I'm a IS guy, and dont know much about the GS's.
But anyways everything is stock rite now and he's just trying to change the low beam with any bulbs. He just cant seem to get aftermarket bulbs to work without shutting off. Any suggested bulbs or ballast will be helpful. And the fogs are still stock until he can figure out how to make the low beams work with the stock ballast. Oh yeah can you guys suggest any matching bulbs for the low and fogs!!
But i think he needs to get a new HID kit, am i right?
Sorry for the confusion its still early!! lolz
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

just any bulbs? there are not that many manufactures that makes the D4S, i am pretty sure he is probably using the D2S bulbs that's commonly sold on the market hence the shut off.
and wait, he has stock halogen fogs and he is trying to match his HID to that yellow halogen??! what the hell is going on here.
bottom line,
look at the kits from our vendors, mobilehid or xenon depot for D4S low beam (whatever kelvin he wants) and just get a matching HID Fog kit 9006 , then both will match, simple.

yeah, i can understand changing fogs to match hid, but don't think you want to do it the other way around. as mentioned, all 3gs are d4s bulbs, make sure that's what he got. if his stock bulbs are ok but the aftermarket ones keep on shutting off, then it's the aftermarket bulbs problem
