Default Tire Choices

I will need to replace the tires on my 07 GS350 AWD in the next couple of month and have been researching choices on Tire Rack. Some many to choose from and after reading the reviews I am still undecided. I do not want to get run flats again. I live in Pa so snow does come into play. Can anyone recommend a tire that handles well, provides a quiet ride, and wears resonability well?

Thanks

Check and this thread and the tires subforum - Michelin Pilot Sport A/S has some fans.

I am running them right now on 18" rims, however I won't use them in the snow as they are poor reviews for that (plus I don't want to run the 18" rims in winter weather). I will be looking for a dedicated snow tire to put on my 17" stock rims come this winter or next. I may try to get through this winter on the runflats though.

On my 2002 ES I used Michelin Pilot Exaltos A/S and they were great in rain and light snow. The only problem on the GS is you would have to go to a 215/50-17 tire from the stock 225/50-17. It's acceptable and would fit.

Never listen to reviews. I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. They are fine in the snow with snow mode. They are the best tires you can get for the GS.

I went with the Continental ContiProContacts and so far so good - it has only been 2000 miles or so, but they are still super quiet unlike the Yokohama Advans I had before them. Not convinced they handle as well as the Yokos did, but I am happy with the quieter ride.

They are "High Performance All-season" vs Pilot Sport which are "Ultra High Performance"

Exalto are H-V rated, 14"-17" and 45-60 Series. Pilot Sport are "Z" (W & Y) rated, 16"-20" and 25-55 Series.
