Very sad to here, I live in a gated community and the other night a lot of cars got broken into. Well not really, I don't understand why people leave their cars unlocked! One lady left her purse in her car, when she got up she told me there had been $600 dollar charged on her CC. (mcdonald and a lot of GAS charges) Other got their sun glasses, nav system, and radar stolen.

Sorry to hear that man. I kinda feel your pain. I bought my 08 GS350 in April. Only to pull up in my driveway June 2, 2008 and see my neighbor's pit bull get loose and chase a young lady walking down the street onto the roof of my car. The dog jumped all over the car scratching the paint trying to get after her. After i got the dog away and the young lady off my car the roof was caved in to the point i could look inside my car from underneath the sunroof. TALK ABOUT PISSED! My car was in the shop for a month b/c they had to replace the entire roof and buff out all the scratches...looks like new, but i did file a claim against my neighbor's home owners as well as a dimunition of value claim to compensate for depreciation.

Sorry to hear this. The car is always replaceable so whether if they find it or not. Insurance is there to help you.

and the engine?
I would've taken the seats as a nice accessory sofa, TOP GEAR style.
j/k
I hope the insurance is writing it off as a total loss nevertheless.
wow. it's only been 2 days.
I don't even know if i can trust lojack. Because if they can't find your car in 24 hours, you only get $600 back........... and a chopped car after a few days.

the only thing intact is the steering wheel, the gauges and glove compartment..literally, there's a gap in the middle..in other words, its like a black hole in the middle with the nav gone.
Things that they took:
-front bumper/ML parking assist sensors
-rear bumber/ML parking assist sensors
-radiator along with other engine parts but the engine block was surprisingly intact
-arm console is all gone
-gearbox gone
-grill
-coolant compartment
-wheels
-headlight assembly
-all the windows except the windshield
-trunk lid/camera
-taillights
-ALL the airbags/all upholstery is turned upside down
-all four door handles
-all the doors are damaged
-the hood is jacked too
theres much more I just cant quite remember.
The tow guys said the car was clearly stolen via tow truck because there were no signs of hot wiring or anything related. GUYS BE VERY CAREFUL AND DO WHATVER IT TAKES TO KEEP YOUR CAR SAFE..this whole thing is a nightmare
I think with the above mentioned, its clearly a total loss.
What do you guys think? I think from the list, the parts let alone the labor will exceed a whole lot.
The insurance said since the tow yard is stating that its a total loss, they're gonna roll with that and give me an update once they assess it as well.
God I hope the insurance wont try to salvage the thing. Any input from you guys that know about insurance claims would greatly be appreciated
ill try to take pics if I can but doubt it

well, you'll need pics to make the claim anyway.
post them or not, I can already vividly imagine what the car looks like.
completely stripped, sitting on cinder blocks. damn!
The next thing i'm gonna do is put a nice sticker on my dash that says "Dear Thief, please BURN the car when you're done stripping."
i wonder if these parts will turn up on ebay...
what county to you live in, jentlemaan?
