Ventilated front seats - not longer on GS350s??
According to the press release post elsewhere in this group, it says:
Ventilated front seats (GS 460 only)
Wait a minute. Are the seriously going to take away the option for ventilated front seats for the 350, which is in almost all packages and on almost all of the 2007 GS350 cars on the lots now.
What do you think? I like that option but, when I order my GS350, it's NOT worth upgrading to a GS460 just to get it.

Don't get too excited about the change. The ventilated seats really don't do much and the fan speed is so low that you don't get much air anyways. Plus, they are ventilated, not air conditioned. The seat fan draws air from under the seat or from the front footwells so it's not like you are getting cool A/C air from the vents. Not worth upgrading and not worth being upset by the change.

I drive through the desert every week in CA and temps today hit 113. Trust me, ventilated seats don't do squat at those temps. In fact, because it draws non a/c air from under the seat/front footwell, the little air that you can feel is hot air. My drive is approx 2 hours so I have a lot of time to play with the car. I have tried vent seats on and vents seats off. Very little difference if any. In comparison, I had a '03 745Li with the ventilated seats and those seats moved a lot of air through the seats. Those seats really felt ventilated. These seats feel like someone is yawning on your butt and there is almost no air coming out of the seat back. Try it and you will see what I mean.

Nope, he's right. If you got cool air blowing down there, you can feel it on your thighs with short pants. You don't feel it on your back unless your back is sweaty and you lean AWAY from the seat. At first I was happy with it. But now, not so much. at setting 3 its more noisy than breezy.

Correct. The heading of that particular list says GS460 STANDARD features. It is now standard equipment instead of optional equipment on the V8 versions.

But ventilated seats have been standard in all GS300/350/430/450h since the beginning. That really doesn't make sense.

I only use the seat ventilation during long drives when my *** gets hot and I can really feel it cool down. The best application is during the winter when you want your buns warm and toasty.
