Default Vias W/ Nav Mod

Hi Guys,
Just ordered the Vias for my 06 GS430 with M/L & Nav. Question, how many have done mod and have a vias installed. I figure while the dash is apart to do vias install should I do overide. I would love to access phone & nav input while driving, DVD watching for kids would be nice!! I have 6.1 Nav so i can't do screen-touch bypass. Please send thoughts ...........thanks!!

I had the Vias installed a couple of weeks back, its Great!!! But the only draw back is that if you don't do the Nav hack then you;ll be pretty ticked off at using this device....IT Totally greys out when you start moving and you can't select a thing...So great choice ..just get the Nav Bypass done...

I have the Vais iPod unit in my 06 and did not do the override, and it works fine all the time. Is that an issue for the Sat Radio unit? Or maybe a 2007 issue?

Might as well get everything done while you have it taken apart.

I didn't do the nav hack, but I did do the BT by-pass when I installed my VAIS unit.

Your 06 came with 6.1 nav?

Yea, My 06 has 6.1 , Nav was replaced under warr. I think i will try the DVD mod, not sure about the Nav hack. I have read some features don't work well without the switch install (which looks like it doesn't fit well). So with the DVD mod I can use B/T phone features and kids can watch DVD's. Just no Nav input while driving. I am assuming the Vias works all the time.....correct? Thanks for the input.

aas080, there are technically 3 mods: BT by-pass, Nav hack, and DVD hack.

In order to see folder list/song list and use the dial pad while in-motion, that would be the BT by-pass. Nav hack requires the install of a physical switch and DVD hack allows DVD playback.
