Scratched rims
I have the 2006 Lexus GS 300 AWD. Yesterday I was parallel parking and my left rear rim hit the curb and made a scratch to the rim. I was talking to my friend and I was asking him about a repair to these stock rims (maybe bringing it to the lexus dealership to repair), he was saying I am better off actually buying a new rim??? What should I do???

Less than a week after I bought my new car, I scratched my rim ( from hitting the curb ). I brought the car back to the dealer and they were able to fix it for $110. It looks just like new to me. I guess it depends on how bad you scratched it. A new rim will cost you a lot more than that.

Scratch as in how bad? If you're talking surface scratches, then you (not necessarily you, but dealer or car place) can buff out (sand) and resurface the rim and get it back to 'new' If you have deep grooves, then there's no resurfacing that's going to get the scratches out. Also, I would imagine depends on where and how big the scratches.

there are members that can tell you where to get it fixed right. also, you can probably get a new one or a port take off for cheap from CL sponsor Darrel Diller/Sewell Lexus.

My '05 cpo RX330 had 3 badly curb damaged rims. Hendrick Lexus' detailing person did an amazing job of repairing the damage. I cannont tell the rims were repaired. I initially thought the rims would have to be replaced.
