Great Price! We get to pay $46,342 + 10% (4,364) for taxes so we're all-in for 50K+.
I guess that's why we pay top dollar to live in CA

Can you please state your sale price (not OTD)? Taxes in Chicago are a hell of a lot higher than Oregon

If these are the prices paid for a newly released car, it won't be very long before the GS350 should be purchased for the standard $500 over invoice. Don't forget the economy is not that great at this time and the GS300 never did gangbuster numbers even when first introduced. For those with some patience, the new GS will be able to be purchased right. Lexus has one of the bigger markups in the industry and there is a lot of room to play. Also, I would never pay for the Prep charge (different dealers call it other names) as it is 100% pure profit.

I'm in the market for one, I wish we had the invoice prices. I won't pay more than 750 over invoice. NOOO WAY, I've been quoted 1000 over invoice on the ES from a fleet manager here in so cal. The ES is a much easier car to sell. I just wish I knew what invoice was. I'm guessing the spread b/w invoice and MSRP is about 4.5-5.5k depending on the model.

AudiMon,
So what was the final price you paid for the GS350?
With Nav and ML too?
Very interested

I paid 44,655, which is about $1,217 over invoice but I also got the black pearl emblem package which goes for about $350. In affect, I paid $867 over invoice which is 43,438 on MSRP of 48,977. The car has nav but no ML. If you look on the lexus website, you'll see the package I got. There is one package above it for about 2.5k more which has PA and ML. I hope this helps in your negotiations. The invoice price was hard to get but I got it and now i'm sharing :-)

AudiMan,
Thanks for the 411. I was just at the dealership last night and I was looking at the same package.
Black on Black with NAV no ML. I already had a price from another dealership of $45,987 but he said he could do it for $44,987. Now I know what the price is I can really negotiate. SLICK/SICK RIDE!!!!

What does this say about the Brand New GS350 if it is selling for approximately $800 over invoice after just being introduced? Maybe I could wait a little longer and get this newer version of the GS300 for tissue! Kewl. Sometimes we get lucky. However, 44 or 45 Thou is still mucho bucks for any car.

Exactly. Just like when the MB E320 changed to the E350. Initially, dealers tried selling the car w/ little or no discount. After a month or so, discounts were readily available.
I guess it's like a mid-cycle update, only it happened during the second model year.
