Hi everybody, I just totaled my 05 TL (http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showt...=116869&page=3) Sad day... and I am looking at new cars. I am about to buy the Acura RL, but I thought I would drop by and check out the GS. I read somewhere that the GS300 AWD with navi uses radar for certain features... not sure what they are (as you can tell I ha ve not done much research). My concern is.. I use a valentine one radar detector... anybody have a problem with the two? In my FX35 the radar would go off all the time because the car had a laser in it that would bounce off other objects...and I don't want to render my radar detector useless.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the NAV uses radar. To the best of my knowledge, the adaptive cruise control does use radar however.

Thanks guys - I guess it doesn't matter, the selling price is too high - a few thousand out of my reach. I will be getting the 05' RL. I appreciate the responses.

The car ONLY has radar if you get the PCS (pre-collision system) or Dynamic Radar cruise control. Navigation DOES NOT use radar.

Anyway, few cars are rolling of with PCS or radar cruise control since not many people are buying it. That might mess up your radar if you custom order those options. Otherwise, no problem at all.

Even if you don't get the GS, just thought I would share with other prospective-buyers out there.
