The colors are VERY close. u have to really come close to them each to notice the difference. The quartz is a very very DEEP blue purple.
The flint is a dark blue gray.
Both fantastic colors especially under the sun.
The tan interior does not do this car justice tho - the other 2 choices are rock solid imho.... hey flip - u think a saddle interior is in store for us next yr as a sports package perhaps?? hehe

Funny, I loved the Cashmere (tan) interior. It was very airy and light. My second favorite is the Ash (gray) interior. I'm over black interiors. My last two cars had black interiors and while it's sporty looking, it shows dust way too easily and feels confining.
Back on topic....the Flint Mica is a great color. Quartz shadow is very similar to Flint Mica in terms of "darkness", but has strong plumb colored undertones. Definitely a unique color without being too flashy or gaudy.

See it in real life
I agreee with what other posters have said. You really need to see the Quartz Shadow in person to evaluate it. I would go further than that and say that you should see it in different types of light, because it changes considerably depending on the sun.
When we went to pick out a color for my wife's GS300 it was overcast and we really liked the quartz shadow -- it had a dark metallic gray look with a touch of color. About an hour later the sun came out and the bluish/red/plum tint was much more obvious (but still not overdone). We love the color, and people comment on it.
