You should change your caster arm bushings.

Ah I suspected one of'em was the a/c drain but I didn't even think about the sunroof drain. Thanks!

Yeah need to commit a day to do the bushings and ball joints... Do you have experience doing them? The DIY posts make it look relatively simple but it looks like I'll need a press for the caster arm bushings?

The ball joints and outer tie rods are really easy. I change mine every year because the ball joint failure pics sketch me out For the caster arms, I bought a shop press from harbor freight for $100 or something like that which made it easy to install figs bushings. You can also buy new arms with bushings, but I think only from Lexus for a lot of money. I bought some used 01-05 arms and that way I was able to minimize down time. The 01-05 arms are beefier than the 98-00.

So if I'm understanding you correctly - you bought new bushings and used 01+ arms, fit the bushings into the arms, then just swapped out the whole arm?

That's a good way to do it. You can also buy OEM-style replacements, arms and all, from eBay, but... enh. You kinda get what you pay for there.

Yeah that's correct. Also the bushings on 01-05 are a couple millimeters bigger, along with beefier arms. Iirc they changed the bushing size half way through production on the 01's, so if you get 01's measure them just to be safe. By doing it the way I did I was able to work on getting the old bushings out/new in whenever I had free time, while still being able to drive my car
