Average Mileage before GS300 2jzgte swap
Hi everyone,
I have been looking around on Club Lexus for a long time, mostly just reading, but now I figure I will contribute and start discussions where I can. I am the current owner of an 07 IS350 and previous (RIP) 95 SC400 .
But moving on to my question:
What is the average mileage most of you GS300 owners had before you swapped to the GTE?
I've been looking around for a GS300 for a swap and I've mostly seen high mileage examples:
A few at 170k, one (one owner) with 254k in flawless condition.
So what mileage is considered acceptable before the swap? Obviously I am going to swap out the engine as well as upgrade the suspension, brakes, and such. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks

It doesn't matter what mileage is on the car, it does not determine "when" to swap in a 2jzgte. I bought my gs with 185k and the interior is very clean as well as the body, and that's what I was looking for knowing I wanted to put the gte in. If you're upgrading/replacing most suspension parts, you'll be fine. When you swap the gte, change out all seals/gaskets (plenty of write up on that all over). But to answer your question in full, the mileage on the chassis is irrelevant unless youre just picky about the number.

Awesome.
Thank you for the information. I just wanted to get an idea of the general mileage people had.
But it makes sense that if you're changing most of the critical components, chassis mileage isn't as relevant.
