Default Just bought a 2004 gs300 . Need thoughts.

Hey guys, i just bought a 2004 gs300 with 82,xxx miles. I paid $5,800 . Did i get a good deal?
My second question is, what can i do to make it faster and how much would it cost? Will the car be reliable after modds? How many mpg? Should i have bought a gs430 instead? Here's some pictures

beautiful car. welcome!

mods depend on how much money you wish to spend. $200 gets you an air intake which is a great place to start. $20,000 gets you a twin turbo engine swap w/ the bells and whistles.
you can spend hours on CL seeing what other members did to their cars.
just be careful of the 'mod bug' which can quickly consume your paychecks.
enjoy your new car for what it is, not what it could be.

looks to me like you got a great deal!
has the critical timing belt service been done?
did you get a chance to check the dealer maintance records?

Looks good from the pictures. Good deal

Get any service records?
MPGs depends on a number of factors.
Got any interior pics?
Before any mods make sure maintenance is up to date(suspension on these cars jumps to the top of the list of to-do maintenances)

GL and welcome

Nice find and a good price. Get the maintenance done and be sure to check the ball joints condition and replace as needed. No real high HP add-ons except to do a 2JZGTE Aristo turbo swap. Lots of info on that here on this site.
Cosmetics wise you can get some coil overs and lower that baby.

Check this item on eBay. 290824332307. I have coilover D2 for like 3 or 4 years on my Baby and NOT complain at all.

Also, I have a good friend that do the full Aristo swap locally and very good prices. Engine, Trans. and LSD Diff. for $6,000.00 and look like factory, No wires or crap work any where. But, you're in NYC and If you can do it by yourself is cheaper of curse. Just to let you know how much $$$ you need to spend.

Welcome to the forum. There is nearly two decades of information regarding modifications to the S160 GS300. Most of it has been posted here at some point, so the search function will be your friend.
