Default fuel cap not completely tight. Check engine light on.

I went to fill up and for some reason didnt fully tighten the fuel cap and i got the fuel cap error code the next day. Will it go away in a couple days when it starts reading correctly? (yes I re-tightened the cap correctly afterwards). Or do I need to reset the check engine light for it to go off?

I searched and nothing about it going off by it self. Just that it will throw a code. My other cars would reset after a day or so when the cap was on tight. Its been 3 days and no codes have gone away.

Do i need to reset the CPU?
