It was the same code, P0325. However after I took it to autozone and had the code read (NOT CLEARED), I washed the car and it went away. All the power is back also. Now the CEL is back on but the car still drives fine. I assume the current CEL is for some emissions BS that was intermittently throwing codes before. Either way I'll have the code checked again in a couple days to verify it isn't the knock sensor.

Bumping old thread. I agree use OEM and replace the harness connectors. I allowed my mechanic to use an aftermarket part and it only worked for 4 months. Just installed new oem...no issues. Also since their isn't an aftermarket or oem harness for our car, buy the harness for the ES300, THEN splice the connectors on. ES300 part number is 82219-33030.

So first off I'm pretty new to this forum, I actually think this is my first post.. But I have searched around on here AND on google and haven't really found anything specific to the problem I'm having. I bought a 2002 GS430 a couple weeks ago with 320XXX miles on it (ya i know) and for the most part everything was great. Car had a bad upper ball joint that I fixed, a cracked windshield and a CEL for the gascap which I fixed. After all that was done the car ran great for about 2 days which leads to where I am now.
A couple days ago I was getting onto the freeway, floored it to get past a semi, then the CEL came on and the car now feels like it has about half the power it should. Pulled the code and it was P0325. Left bank knock circuit or something like that. Reset it and the car ran great for another hundred miles or so then it came back on. Reset it again and it came on almost instantly. Seems to run ok just cruising down the freeway, maybe 4-5 mpg below what it was getting before but under any kind of acceleration its just pathetic now.
The previous owner only ever ran 89 octane in the car instead of 91-93 like whats recommended but to my knowledge the knock sensor never went off on him. I've ran about 4 tanks of 93 through the car and I'm stuck with this. So now I'm sitting with $450 worth in knock sensors, spark plugs and timing belt sitting in my rockauto cart and wanted to get some second opinions before I commit to ripping the top of the motor apart.
Are there any other reasons these cars throw that code? Am I actually knocking? could an injector be leaning out, running on 7 cylinders, bad MAF signal, etc? Thanks!

Car felt so sluggish, really under power and same code turned up.
Few weeks research on here I decided for going only oem sensors. Bought everything ( sensors , gaskets ) and I did myself .
Fixed everything and since from there no codenanda car runs really well!
Notice! If you doing ,just take care rhe coolant bypass pipe back of the manifold because when I put mine together those pipe started leaking ,so I bought a new set of manifold gasket with the bypass assemblassemblaskets for this unit.
By the way I changed both fuel dampers and valve cover gasket too same time, than flushed the engine with BG EPR and changed the oil
