Default 98 Y pipe

Part of my original original Y Pipe has rusted through. Meineke said they can possibly fix that section for $300, but Toyota is saying the rest of the Y pipe may go, and might as well replace the whole thing for $900.

Thoughts?

Check eBay, I got a Top Speed y pipe with the pipes that go back to the axles for like $300 or something like that.

Mine was also rusted and leaking on several spots. the problem is the double lining of the pipe, this traps moisture inside. i had mine cut after the oxygen sensors and a shop welded new pipes onto the old. cost me 140€ only.
but the y-pipe is also available from magnaflow for only ~300$, so that was also my first option. however, to germany shipping was not an option.

The Magnaflow Y-pipe is for the SC430, and it is a few inches too short. I told them about their error and they have not updated their catalogue..

Likewise with the Megan. I had to have a four inch section welded in on the Y-pipe to make it fit my GS4.

I just replaced the whole Y pipe as rust was showing everywhere. Smooth and quiet now, although I wonder if I got it for $300 and a bit of labor, maybe save $200 or so...

I had my Y-pipe redone without the first resonator for $125 when I replaced the cats. She's barely any louder without the first resonator since there are two more.
