Default Hesitation/resistance when accelerating from idle - Feels like car is heavy!

I copied some of this from the LS 400 threads.

I'm experiencing same symptoms on my GS400 for the longest. I bought the car bone stock always noticed this symptoms off and on. Feels like it runs well when it feels like it. I pretty much replaced all the major tune up parts needed. ECT, MAF, O2's all 4, Coils, plugs, throttle body all new components, transmission fluid/ filter. All new fuel pump, filters, senders,.. Etc... No Engine Light. The car pulls great when it feels like it. I just wished it always ran well LOL.

Slight hesitation and resistance when accelerating from idle - Feels like the car is heavy - Any Ideas?

For the time that I've owned my car I've noticed a slight hesitation and resistance when I hit the gas peddle from idle speed. It is less when I hit the accelerator harder and speed up quicker when I'm at a light, but when I speed up slowly it feels like the car is pulling weight and is heavier - it seems like it doesn't want to move but I'm forcing it by hitting the peddle. I feel this via the gas peddle and how it is a little harder to press.

If I lay off the accelerator for a sec than try again, then car will act normally and slowly start to accelerate normally. It happens up to about 20 mph, then the problem goes away at higher speeds.

Anybody else experience this sort of problem? Any solutions and any ideas what it is?

Thanks!

Problem solved decided to inspect my brakes. I found all my brake hardware rusted pins, boots torn, no grease to help float. Installed all new hardware all 4 calipers. The car feels so smooth now.

Calipers are good. It was just the caliper sliding pins were rusted out. The boots were torn all grease was dried out.

One piece of advice for all, when you pull your pins on your next brake job, hopefully you have a table grinder/polisher, polish those pins up till they gleam.

Buy new ones.
why would you re-install caliper sliding pins that were damaged by rust???
