thats odd.
but really if youve changed everything and your alignment is indeed straight, maybe your car was in an accident? you could be able to tell more if there was an alignment sheet.
bushings all changed out too? lca bushings? i assume ball joints upper and lower were changed. the upper ball joint is usually changed out with the arm so those bushings are good. inner and outer tie rods, rack n pinion bushings. an alignment after all of this will be the cherry on top that completes the whole thing
so im pretty surprised by your situation

I too am chasing this same issue. I've done balljoints, upper control arms, inner/outer tie rods, rack bushings, rack adjustment, and an alignment. Still won't return to center as it should. Caster is 7.8 on right side and 7.2 on left. Could this be it? When i turn right the wheel wants to return more and almost does. When I turn left it does not.
Don't mean to thread jack. Experiencing the same thing

this makes me wonder if the rack itself is the culprit

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm not sure if your symptoms are the same as mine. When I turn onto a street the steering feels tight and the steering wheels slowly returns back but in short bursts instead of a smooth continuous motion.
Are you experiencing the same?
On the front, I just replaced lower suspension arm no 2, lower ball joint, outer tie rod, strut, strut mount, rotors and brake pads. I got an alignment after I did this myself at my local firestone shop. I'm lowered on tein h-tech springs and KYB GR2 struts, tech showed me on the screen the alignments are all in spec but he didn't print out.

I hope not..but it doesn't feel hard to turn just tight...if that makes any sense. I guess I might have to get a new car sooner than I wanted too.
