VSC/Check Engine Lights on after LED Fog Install
This is my first post here, so please excuse me if this is not in the right thread.
I just changed my fog lights from factory to a smoked LED strip aftermarket pair purchased on ebay. I pulled the factory lights and basically plugged the bare end of the LED leads into the two prongs at the end of the foglight harness and taped them over with electrical tape.
Now the VSC/Check Engine Lights are lit up.
I went through the gas-cap test - O-ring is solid and it closes tightly. I pulled the ECU fuse for fifteen minutes and plugged it back in - VSC and Check Engine Error Lights are still fired up.
Could the issue be caused by not checking the polarity before jerry-rigging the AMP LED Fog Lights or could a resistance difference be signalling to sensors an issue which in turn triggers the Check Engine & 2 VSC lights?
I tried a few searches here but could not find out much other than gas cap issues. Any feedback would be great.
Thank You

Sounds unrelated and just coincidental to me. Get the codes checked and report back with them for more assistance. The only real way to diagnose the cause of issue is with the codes.
