Blown GS430 Sub?
I've got the ML premium sound system. Well, about 2 weeks after owning it, I developed a nasty rattle from what I think is the sub. I've searched around a little bit, but most of what I'm finding is for the ES and LS. Any difference? I looked at replacement subs, and new ones are around $300+ on ebay. I was hoping not to spend that much.

The Sub is most likely ripped around the edges. A quick fix would be to add a silicone gel bead around the speaker and wait overnight for it to dry. Try not to add a thick bead, Too much prevents the speaker from moving up and down for songs with bass. Wet your index finger a little and spread the gel around. This fix was a good enough fix for my Old Ls430

I don't know about videos, but here's what I can remember from the last time I pulled it out....
1. Pull out rear seat by pulling up hard ( there are 2 clips that hold the seat portion in place )
2. After seat is out there will be several bolts along the bottom to remove the seat backing
3. There are hidden bolts for the top of the seat backing behind the 2 headrests ( raise the headrest and there will be a flap that allows access )
4. You should now be able to start pulling on the pillars ( do this carefully, I recommend some sort of retainer puller to prevent breaking the clips that hold the pillars in place )
5. Once the rear pillars are out, you should be able to slide out the upper carpeted piece that covers the sub. There may be an electrical connector you might have to disconnect in order to get it away from the sub.
6. Now you should see just plastic covering and some bolts holding the sub in place on the deck.
7. Remove the 4 bolts and pull the sub out
8. Find the tears in sub around the outside and use whatever glue/tape you have available.
9. Let stand for a bit then put it all back

Should take about an hour or so....one thing I forgot after looking at my car last night, there are holders for car seats that have a plastic covering over them. You'll need to pop the plastic off and unbolt them in order to get deck off ... good luck man

Just an FYI for people, any sub that DOESNT have the port hole in the magnet can be used as a free air sub. If you look at our factory sub (along with any other free air) you will notice the magnet is solid.

Yeah the stock sub sucks. I have a write up that night be helpfull. I have a non free air Rockford fosgate t1 powered by a alpine mrp1000 and the thing hits. If you fix the sub it will rip/blow all over again. I got alot of **** on here for it, but 6 months going strong. Check my thread on it
