i'm new and i have a 2000 GS 300. my dad gave it to me last year with only 95k miles. It now has 103k. Leaks a bit of oil (replaced oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket already), and when i'm braking from a high speed (at least 60mph) my car shakes. any idea about common oil leak locations?
i used to be into hondas but grew up, and i don't feel like lowering my car until my stock suspension blows then i'll go all out on it. besides the oil leak, the motor feels healthy.

Hi my name is Danny.
I'm not new to working or building Lexus cars and 2j motors but I am new to owning one.
Got and 01 silver gs with grey interior. Going to build this thing to play at the track since I love the way this car looks and 2jz are just so much fun! Check out my build thread from time to time to see what I'm working on.

Hello,
Name is Benny. I am leasing to buy a (2nd gen.) 2000 GS400 platinum edition. Stock audio with 5 disc (I knew I should've kept my CD and tape collection ) 230k mi currently w/1yr left on lease, silver exterior, gray leather interior w/wood grain, and it's the most solid drive I've ever had. Everything else I've driven seems/felt like a rust bucket compared to this.
Just now started acting up but, I'm not well versed in auto mechanics.
Happy you guys are here. This page has already helped tremendously.

New to the Lexus Famliy
Just got my 98 GS400 about 6 months ago and loving every minute of it! It is my weekend warrior.
It is silver w/black interior windows are all tinted. Inside I have a JVC 7" touch screen head unit and a JL Audio amp pushing 2 Rockford Fosgate punch speakers. I have also upgraded all interior lighting with LED bulbs.
I have replaced stock wheels with some "20x8.5( +38 offset) Koko Kuture Intake chrome wheels(sorry no picture yet). Just ordered some Eibach pro kit lowering springs and new Monroe struts. While I am down there I will also be replacing lower ball joints and tie rod arms(Moog). Look forward to all the info I will be able to find on this forum. Thanks!

Hi everyone glad to be apart of the forums. I just picked up my 1998 Lexus GS400. It has 246000km on it. It is Copper brown metallic I believe the colour is called and the interior is tan. The V8 is a joy to drive. It came with the factory 17inch chromes. It came with an aftermarket Alpine double din and a Alpine amplifier tucked in the rear hanging off the rear are where the factory sub is mounted. I'm not sure what factory sound system it can with but it still sounds good and the amplifier is in the rear right beside the tire well. I have since put in a JL Audio 15 inch W3 because the Alpine amp was hooked up to the factory sub and it didn't sound great. I'm looking for something to fit in the are properly in the future. Today I installed the LED tail lights and the car looks a whole lot more beautiful.

Greetings from North Dallas. 2001'gs300. 120xxx miles. Grey with grey interior. Working on stereo upgrade. Might include my progress when complete.
Seems all tha numerous threads have bits and pieces but have not found one that is a one stop detailed description of the build.
Mike

New beater (Not really)
1.gold
2. Cream (?)
3. No options I believe. Base model
4. ^
5. No modifications that I know of except for the wheels I believe.
I'm not too good with cars as you can probably tell, but
Drove 4 hours to pick this car up for $3000
It has some wear and tear and occasional concerning sounds (139k) and multiple dents, but it drives perfect and when I get in it I can forgive all of it's
