I look up things on here everyday so i finally took the leap of faith and made an account.im in the tampa bay area so if anyone wants to get up and whatnot i have garage space and beers.so i have 2 , 2gs300's and i feel like latley its one thing or the other.im finally posting because im debating selling my 98 2gs300 blue on tan interior with 85k miles.....my concern is that it needs the following and im not sure wether to sell it as is or to spend MORE money on it and keep it, it has the following issues.
-b1s1 o2 sensor( no biggie)
-water is getting in the car somewhere and the carpet is done.ive been garaging it and avoid driving it
-tps code
-abs front passanger wheel speed sensor
-vsc and vsc off lights are on due to abs
-little annoying rattles that my 01 dosent have thatt **** me the f==k off.
its been repainted and its a 7/10
interioris 6/10
so you guys tell me what would you do ,sell it ,fix it, how much should i ask if i sell as is,how much should i ask if i address everything then sell.
thanks everyone

id part it out, personally. complete, you might get $2,500.00 with the issues. parting it out, you will get a decent amount for the motor alone. since you have another GS300, i wouldn't fix this one.

parting it out seems like so much work...what gets me is that it actually runs and drives fine.i need like 1k to 1.5k in parts.i bought the car for 4500 with 79k miles a year ago needing only a o2 and abs sensor.i feel like its too late to cut my losses now.more likley than not im just gonna fix everything.i've just been in the market for a 3rd gen 4runner 4x4 so all my attention has been going to that...not to mention my 2001 is a creampuff and its black on black.

if you fix the issues, you'll get more for it than you put out to fix it, if you do the work yourself. the big thing is the leak and how bad the carpet is. first thing id do is strip the interior out and try to get that carpet taken of (either dry it out and shampoo it or replace it). Then, fix the leak before reinstalling the carpet.

i don't think you'll ever get 6.5k for it. 5-5.5k, maybe. depends on how the "new" paint job looks and other things. good thing is that it has low miles.

I agree. Fix the pressing issues and get it sold, especially if you are looking at other cars. Parting it out sounds like a good idea in theory, but it will end up costing you a lot more time and I don't think the market is huge for GS 2nd generation parts.

The other option is to just trade it in as is at a dealer when you buy your 4Runner. But you obviously will get pretty low trade in offers given its condition.
