Default Hood pins or no hood pins......?

So I am thinking of getting the Seibon cf hood.....I have heard in the early day the latches were suspect and needed pins..... but today's have much stronger latches and I won't need them. I always felt they kinda take away from the look of the hood.......

Thanks in advance for responding

Cheap CF hood's I would recommend pins, but seibon is pretty good quality so hood pins shouldn't be necessary. I ran CF hood's on my past cars with no pins and no issues.

the problem with CF hoods is the structural design on uplift. most that ive seen have always failed at some point due to weak mount points where it can not take the loads.. I would make sure the mounting points are reinforced and strong enough, plus the web should be good as-well, to reduce flexing. if its a show car no problem but if you like to go fast..i would really look into design.

I have the VIS carbon hood, I ran my old one without pins with no issues, im thinking of doing the aerocatch this time around (still debating). I think you would be ok without it personally.

I can tell you they defintiely know their stuff, and nothing but quality work. Ive been dealing with Ben long before he owned a shop, and I wouldnt take my car anywhere else.

Im in Crofton, once I get my car back (hopefully june 1st), we can defintiely meet up.
