03 GS300 radio/nav/tape deck not working
hey fellow 2nd gen GS owners.. this is my first post just got my first Lexus, its a 03 GS300 sport edition the car is BEAUTIFUL only paid 5400 for it and everything is clean only 78k miles the 1 problem is my radio/nav. is not working.. when I turn the radio on it says audio off until the screen blanks, the screem comes on and off but no sound and when I try to turn on the nav theres Japanese characters at the bottom of the screen, the only thing that does work is the climate control that works fine, the previous owner said the radio and nav worked until someone tried to steal it can anyone help if they've had similar problems, I really don't want to go aftermarket because I like how everything is controlled on the screen but if necessary I will,
ps, if I go aftermarket I don't want flip out I would rather it be touchscreen in dash but I was told if I wanted to do that it wouldn't fit is this true?

I'm not to sure about your stock navi problem since i've never worked on one before, but i can answer your aftermarket question...
So from what you said, your looking for a double din. It will fit. You need to buy a dash kit. You WILL also NEED to get a non-navi climate control setup. Keep in mind also that you will need to follow the step by step instructions on how to by pass the stock amp in order for your new double din to work properly. Their are plenty of write ups on it. Its simple (in my opinion) but just takes time..
