wash hands more?

My dad is quite messy, and the leather on his LS is wearing away due to whatever weirdo contaminants on his hands.

My original one from my 400 wore like yours in a few years, dealer replaced it with another one under "Goodwill" and i haven't had the same problem since. When I bought my 430, I inspected the **** and it seems the leather wrap is thicker and more durable since i have an '05 which is the last year of the 2GS's.. I say, try to buy a **** off an late model GS430 ('04-05)

WTF. How do you wear out a shift ****? Stop grabbing and stroking it so hard. Problem solved.

Lol. I dont grab it hard and my hands are always clean. Thanks guys. My hands are calloused, man hands prob from going to the gym...maybe this has something to do with it. Keep in mind everyone, i've owned my GS for 10 years and my 3rd shift **** is starting to wear out. First one came with the car (obviously) when I bought it CPO in '03, 2nd and 3rd ones I bought used off of ebay as they seemed to be in pretty good condition. Perhaps if I would have bought one of them brand new they would have lasted longer. But, who wants to spend $450 through Lexus for a shift ****? Not me.

Doesn't answer the shift **** part of things, but I get some crazy calloused and rough hands from lifting too, I use a pedicure tool pretty regularly, has a cheese grater type thing and a pumice stone to get rid of callouses and roughness. That helps keep my hands a lot softer than they would be.

That's a nice one. If only the stitching was black though; the blue doesn't go with anything on my car. Maybe I could put some black shoe polish on it and it will dye it black? I'd hate to F up a new shift **** though.

The wood/leather combo is best imo. The all wood one just looks retarded!

Sorry, but I 100% disagree. The all wood one feels 1000 times better in your hands, looks better, and last longer.

I also have a leather/wood shift ****, and its terribly worn out. The plastic is sticking out the side surrounding the wood.

I ordered an all wood one( The SC430 ****) off the classifieds. I should get it within a few days, I'll tell you guys if I like it better than the wood and leather one or not.
