I swear to God I'm going to pistol whip the next guy who says, " Shenanigans." Thanks for the info sakataj but I am tring to program it to start the car.
Ok, here is what I found:
To duplicate a key:
1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition.(DO NOT TURN)
3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times.
4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key.
5. Within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition.
6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time. At this time the security light starts blinking.
7. After 45 to 60 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off (stops blinking).
8. Remove new key and try starting the car.

I lost the only key I had programmed to car. I have another key (I got it when I was in accident and key in the ignition was shattered) but never got it programmed. Do I have any option other than taking it to dealer? That would mean I would have to have it towed 2+ hours away to nearest dealership.

Key Programming 1. Insert an already programmed master key into the ignition. Do not turn.
2. Press and release the gas pedal 5 times.
3. Press and release the brake pedal 6 times.
4. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Insert the new key you want to program into the ignition.
6. Press and release the gas pedal one time.
7. Wait 1 minute. The security light will be blinking for this one minute. When it stops blinking your
key is programmed. To end programming step on brake one time.
NOTE: Look for your security light. This light will guide you during the programming procedure. The security light will go off at Step 1. It will remain off until Step 6. The security light will come on and start to blink after Step 6 until the key is programmed. If the security light comes on after Step 4 STOP the procedure and start over again.
If you perform this procedure too slowly your car will not go into programming mode. If you can not get your car to go into programming mode make sure you are using a master key and not a valet key.
If you have a master key then you will probably need to perform this procedure more quickly.

OK, there seems to be some issue programming the keys to my car as I have successfully programmed the keys before and now they have come un-programmed..
I had 2 spares that I programmed after much trouble I think I found out that too many keys were in the memory so I deleted all the keys but one.
Then I programmed them and the car would start.
Left the car for winter and when I came back only the original would work.
now I am back to not being able to program the keys.
Any insight?

99 gs300 key programming
Check out Jonb42's post below for 99 gs300. Eliminate your step 1. Then, hit the brake pedal after the last step to end the programming ( the light will start blinking again).
In all fairness, I may have been pumping too slowly when I tried your steps and failed 3 times.
