Repairing broken door cable barrel
I got myself into another bind today and found a way out. I was replacing the door check on my GS400 driver door. The door panel slipped, and I broke the crappy plastic barrel on the door lock cable. The cables aren't available separately.. you have to replace the entire lock. But actually, you dont have to replace the door locks just because the plastic barrel broke. I used the same fix I learned earlier this year for split hoses. Just put the two pieces of the barrel together, wrap it with a few turns of electrical tape, and fuse it with a heat gun. I guess a hair dryer would work, or a butane lighter if you're desperate or brave. There's not a lot of friction against the door lock cable, so the fused tape fix worked fine. Might not work as well with the door opener cable because theres more tugging on that cable, but worth a try. A lot easier and cheaper than replacing door locks.

i did this also when i broke my cable....it did work for a minute
it wont work forever though, eventually it stops working. i also lost the use of my electric lock at times and would have to lock it manually. it didn't bother me for bout a month or two when i got tired of manually locking it and bought a whole new drivers door actuator
