Maybe that's not the best way to phrase it... body roll is controlled by the suspension, specifically the anti-sway bars. Chassis braces do exactly that - they stiffen the chassis. The more rigid you can make the car, the better job the suspension can do.
The OE front chassis/strut tower bars on cars like my MR2 are rigid and non-adjustable. The adjustable bars can only resist compression or tension. The rigid bars can control the twisting forces of one strut tower relative to the other.
